AMRITSAR: Kulwant Singh Ankhi, patron, Amritsar Vikas Manch, has flayed the Centre for not allocating funds in its Union Budget for the 550th birth anniversary celebration of Guru Nanak Dev.

Amritsar, February 5

Kulwant Singh Ankhi, patron, Amritsar Vikas Manch, has flayed the Centre for not allocating funds in its Union Budget for the 550th birth anniversary celebration of Guru Nanak Dev. “It has left the followers of the first Sikh Guru disappointed. The pious occasion falls in November 2019 for which preparations have been started by a number of organisations. The projects, to be completed by the Centre and the state government are proceeding at a snail’s pace,” he said.

As per reports, Pakistan has completed almost 40 per cent of the project, but on the Indian side only demarcation of land, on which four lane road is to be constructed, has been done.

“During the foundation stone laying ceremony, Roads and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari had promised completion of the four-lane road on the Indian side within four and a half months.—TNS
