2 booked in dowry case

AMRITSAR: The women’s police station has booked Prabhdeep Singh and his father Dilbagh Singh, both residents of Wadala Bhittewad village, for allegedly harassing his wife for dowry.

The women’s police station has booked Prabhdeep Singh and his father Dilbagh Singh, both residents of Wadala Bhittewad village, for allegedly harassing his wife for dowry. The victim also accused her father-in-law of sexually harassing her.

The victim stated to the police that she was married to Prabhdeep Singh in November 2017. “Since then, my in-laws started harassing me for bringing insufficient dowry,” she mentioned in her complaint. A case under Sections 406, 498-A, 354 and 354-A of the IPC has been registered against the accused. No arrest has been made so far. The police said further investigation was under way.
