The National Deworming day was observed at block Kalanaur under the supervision of Senior Medical Officer, Dr Lakhwinder Singh Athwal.

Albendazole tablets were administered to children aged between 1 to 19 years across the block in a drive conducted for the purpose.

Dr Athwal said that the teams of health department visited government and private schools and anganwadi centres and administered the tablets to the children during the day. He said the childrens in the age group of 1 and 2 were given half tablet and those from 2 to 19 years were administered one tablet.

Dr Athwal said the objective of campaign was to create mass awareness about the effective and low-cost treatment for the disease.
