Senior leaders of the SAD (Taksali) will support Punjab Democratic Alliance (PDA) candidate from Khadoor Sahib Bibi Paramjit Kaur Khalra, said Rattan Singh Ajnala, former MP, while addressing a gathering in Amarkot village, 40 km from here, on Wednesday.

Party president Ranjit Singh Brahmpura could not attend the function due to some reasons. Taksalis had recently announced to withdraw the candidature of JJ Singh, who too had been fielded from the Khadoor Sahib seat.

"We are now supporting Bibi Paramjit Kaur Khalra. We appeal her to contest the election as an Independent candidate so that she could get support from all the like-minded parties to defeat the candidates of the traditional parties," said Ajnala.

Former minister Sewa Singh Sekhwan, too, addressed the gathering. "I have withdrawn my nomination to give momentum to the election campaign of Paramjeet Kaur Khalra. Our fight is against the traditional parties and I also appeal to the political outfits to support Paramjeet Kaur Khalra," said Gen JJ Singh, while addressing the gathering.

General secretaries Manmohan Singh Sathiala, Karnail Singh Peer Mohmmad and Former MLA Ravinder Singh Brahampura also addressed the gathering.
