NGO to support cancer patients

AMRITSAR:Keeping in view a high number of cancer patients in the state, a group of friends have established an NGO, Can Care Charitable Foundation, for the care of cancer patients.



Amritsar, January 20 

Keeping in view a high number of cancer patients in the state, a group of friends have established an NGO, Can Care Charitable Foundation, for the care of  cancer patients.

Gagandeep Singh, chairman of the foundation, has lost six of his family members in the last 20 years. He said the cancer took away the lives of his father, grandfather, grandmother, uncles and an aunt.

The charitable foundation has also roped in a panel of doctors for the needy. Arun Seth and Anubha Bhatia are cashier and secretary, respectivel, of the NGO. The body comprises Sophiya Sachdeva, Dixit Mehra, Angad Sachdeva, Rohit Mehra, Manish Kumar Shrivastav, Kirandeep Kaur and Bikramjeet Singh. Among prominent present included, Dr Amreek Singh, Dr Meena Sudan and Dr Bhavneet Singh. NGO president Rohini Vohra said, “It helps patients and creates awareness.” — TNS
