Powercom employees and pensioners on Tuesday continued their protest over the delay in salary at the local circle office here.

The normal functioning of the department was affected due to the protest. The agitating employees and pensions were up in arms against the non-payment of their salary and pension for the month of November.

Gurbhej Singh Dhillon, Pooran Das, Dhanwant Singh Randhawa, Manjit Singh and other representatives of the employees and pensioners protested against the mismanagement of the Powercom and the wrong policies of the state government. The leaders warned that they would not join their duties till their salaries were released. The protesters also marched in the town.

Similar protests were organised in Patti, Bhikhiwind, Khemkaran, Naushehra Pannuan, Sarhali, Chohla Sahib, Khadoor Sahib, Harike and Khalra, etc.
