SAD-BJP leaders, under the leadership of state BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Shwait Malik, held a protest rally — Betrayal March — against Capt Amarinder Singh for “anti-people” policies and “failure” to fulfill the promises that the Congress made before the Assembly elections even after two years.

Malik said, “Capt Amarinder Singh has cheated. He gained power through false propaganda, playing with the feelings of youth, farmers and the common people by swearing to the holy Gutka Sahib. No promise has been fulfilled, be it drug abuse, jobs, smart phone distribution or full farm debt waiver.”

Drawing attention towards Punjab’s critical situation, Malik pointed the pledges of the Congress which included providing 3.2 million jobs, five million cell phones, loan waiver worth Rs 90,000 crore, Rs 2,500 as pension for elderly and widows and much more. “The price of fuel in Punjab is sky-rocketing which has given birth to the oil mafia. The revenue is being transferred to the Congress which should be used for the benefit of the state. The state Congress government is working under the pressure of mafias for their vested interests,” he said.

He also termed Navjot Singh Sidhu and Rahul Gandhi poster boys of Pakistan.

Senior BJP leaders, who were present during the protest march, included BJP district president Anand Sharma, Rajinder Mohan Chhina, Baldev Raj Chawla, Gurpartap Singh Tikka, Talbir Singh Gill and Rakesh Gill.
