The Chetak Corps organized weapon and equipment display ‘Know your Army’ for the public. The main motive was to enlighten people about the defence forces and to encourage the youth to join the Armed Forces. A number of people from different walks of life attended the event. The general enthusiasm was evident during the event.

The display provided an opportunity to the public to have a firsthand experience of witnessing infantry weapons, tanks, communication equipment, air defence guns, artillery guns, radars and adventure activities.

A number of stalls were also setup to share information on recruitment and medical services. Overall, the weapon display by the Army received a good response from the public and was attended by students of various schools and colleges.

An Army official said, “A number people don’t know that at the age of 42 they can get recruited in the Indian Army.”

“For more information people can visit our website joinindianarmy.nic.in and check out the information regarding the eligibility criteria for recruitment in the Indian Army,” he said.
