15 booked for bid to encroach on agri land

BATHINDA: As many as 15 persons have been booked for trying to encroach upon agriculture land at Balahar Mehma village.

As many as 15 persons have been booked for trying to encroach upon agriculture land at Balahar Mehma village.

The accused have been identified as Kulwinder Singh, Nirmal Singh, Buta Singh, Gursharan Singh, Jagtar Singh, Jagga Singh, Harcharan Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Parvinder Singh, Gurtej Singh, Iqbal Singh, Sukhjiwan Singh, Karamvir Singh, Sukhjinder Singh and Hardev Singh, all residents of the same village.

ASI Sudesh Kumar said a case had been registered against the accused on a complaint of Baltej Singh.

He told the police on July 16, the accused armed with weapons uprooted the standing crop in his fields as they wanted to encroach upon them. The complainant said when he tried to stop them, the accused threatened him of dire consequences.— TNS
