Bathinda DC unveils Rs 10,608-cr annual plan

BATHINDA: Deputy Commissioner Diprava Lakra on Wednesday released the annual credit plan of the district amounting to Rs 10,608 crore for 2018-19.

Deputy Commissioner Diprava Lakra on Wednesday released the annual credit plan of the district amounting to Rs 10,608 crore for 2018-19. The plan has been prepared by the State Bank of India, lead bank, Bathinda.

Lajpat Rai Goyal, district manager, welcomed Deputy Commissioner Diprava Lakra and ADC Sakshi Sawhney to launch the annual credit plan amounting to Rs 10, 608 crore, which is Rs 459 crore more than last year. Goyal announced that the credit plan aims at taking care of the credit needs of all segments of the society with main emphasis being on the agriculture sector.

The DC, who is also the chairman of the District Consultative Committee, congratulated all the banks for having surpassed the target fixed for the sanctioned as well as in distribution of margin money under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) scheme for the financial year 2017-18 and the district Bathinda ranked number 1 in the state in the target achievement under the scheme.

He also stressed upon the need as well as handholding for loans under the Stand Up India and PMGP scheme, side by side loans under the micro finance to help groups under the NRLM and NULM loan to women, minority community and other weaker sections for the overall development of the district. The ADC also advised the banks to provide financial assistance to the self help groups on priority basis.

Also present on the occasion were Anuj Bhatnagar, Suresh Kuamr Goyal, Babandeep Singh, HS Bhatia, RPS Sandhu, Vikas Mitta. Jasbir Singh, Rajiv Kumar Tinna, Pawan Gyal among others.
