The CIA-I has arrested two members of the gang in this regard. The accused have been identified as Vijay Kumar and Gurvir Singh Guri, a photographer, both resident of Faridkot district.

A local court today sent them to judicial custody. According to sources, the matter came to light when one of the victims, Rahul Kumar, a resident of Balla Ram Nagar, got the ‘appointment letter’ for the post of peon in the court of the Additional Sessions Judge, Mansa. But the identity card issued to the victim mentioned Faridkot as the place of posting.

Rahul had paid an amount of Rs 20,000 to the accused while the deal was finalised for Rs 40,000. The remaining amount was to be paid once he joined his duties.

The accused had also given an ‘appointment letter’ and identity card to Ram Sagar, a resident of National Colony, Bathinda, for his recruitment as a peon in the court of Additional Sessions Judge, Ferozepur. The police have recovered six fake stamps, two fake appointment letters, two identity card and Rs 10,000 from the accused.

Vijay Kumar, a Class IV employee at the district courts in Ferozepur, was dismissed after he was booked in a fraud case in Rajasthan.
