Bathinda, February 20

Members of the Clerical Association of Health Department today went on a one-day pen-down strike against the allegations leveled by members of the Para Medical Health Association against them.

The para medical staff had allegedly accused the clerical staff of indulging in corruption.

The clerical staff members, annoyed over the allegations, decided to go on a strike.

The protest by the Para Medical Health Employees Association was held on February 16.

Following the today’s strike by the clerical staff, the para medical staff members held a meeting and clarified that their protest was only against the civil surgeon for not fulfilling their demands.

The para medical staff have been demanding action against a Goniana-based lady doctor for her alleged bad behaviour with patients, giving GPF statements to all employees, making of seniority list for class four employees and others.

Surinder Dhir, member of the Clerical Association of Health Department said, “We went on a pen-strike today against the false allegations leveled by members of the para medical staff against us. Our members are hurt.”

Sukhdeep Singh, member of the Para Medical Health Employees Association, said, “Our union today held a meeting and issued a statement making it clear that there was nothing against the members of the clerical association, but the protest was against the civil surgeon, who has planned to meet us by Tuesday.”
