Bathinda, January 13

The Bathinda police is still awaiting a report by the Forensic Science Laboratory (FCL) regarding the handwriting in the suicide note as it will be matched with answer-sheets of deceased Ramandeep Kaur (nicknamed Riya).

After one and a half months, the result report has not been sent back to the Bathinda police. Now the Civil Lines police has sent an official reminder to the FCL in Kharar, in which it was demanded that the report should be sent to them as soon as possible, because without this a probe could not move forward.

Kuldeep Singh Bhullar, SHO of the Civil Lines police station, said that they had sent a reminder regarding the result.

The police have made no arrest in the case so far. A case was been registered against the school principal and two teachers earlier this month.

Ramandeep Kaur, a 13-year-old Class VIII student of St Xavier’s School, was found unconscious near the government quarters in the Civil Lines area on October 25, the day she went to the school for rehearsals for the annual function.

Her family had first admitted her to a local hospital from where she was referred to the PGI, Chandigarh.

After struggling for life, she died at PGI on November 7. The case was registered on November 19 after an inquiry was conducted by DSP Gurpreet Singh.

A suicide note was recovered from her school bag six days after her demise

For the further probe, the police had received the answer sheets from St Xavier’s school on November 28 and same day it was send to FCL.
