MRSPTU researchers win best poster awards

Associate Professor Amit Kumar Bhatia and two PhD scholars — Neha Bajwa and Preet Amol Singh — from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), have brought laurels to the university by winning three best research poster awards at the Sixth World Congress on Nano-Medical Sciences, held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, recently.

The conference, recognised by International Society of Nano Sciences and American Chemical Society, was organised by Jamia Hamdard and University of Delhi on the theme “Chemistry Biology Interface: Synergistic in new frontiers and sciences and technology for the future of mankind”.

During the event, about 490 scientific abstracts from 20 different countries were considered. The university Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology head Prof Ashish Baldi guided the winners and congratulated them for their spectacular achievements. Out of the 10 awards, three were won by the department. He further added that the department was fully equipped to challenge global issues concerning the field of pharmacy.

While congratulating the winners for bringing laurels to the university, Vice-Chancellor Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar and Registrar Dr Jasbir Singh Hundal also lauded the winners. They emphasised that participation in reputed conferences broadened the knowledge base of the researchers and equipped them with an understanding of the global problems concerning the respective fields.
