BFUHS VC lays foundation stone of nursing hostel

FARIDKOT: Dr Raj Bahadur, Vice-Chancellor of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), on Friday laid the foundation stone of a three-storey women nursing hostel to provide accommodation to 100 female students of the university.

Faridkot, August 23

Dr Raj Bahadur, Vice-Chancellor of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), on Friday laid the foundation stone of a three-storey women nursing hostel to provide accommodation to 100 female students of the university.

These students are enrolled in different nursing courses of the University College of Nursing.

With the cost of Rs 2.5 crore, the hostel is being constructed under Babu Jagjivan Ram Chhatrawas Yojna.

The construction of the hostel under this scheme is to provide hostel facility, especially to SC girls, towards the broader vision of containment and reduction of their dropout rate. Under this scheme, there is a provision of a girls’ hostel with a capacity of 100 seats, in every block headquarters of low literacy districts. After the foundation stone laying ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor interacted with Kashmiri students. Due to prevailing security situation in the Valley, we are taking special care of these students, said Dr Raj Bahadur.
