Bathinda: Three persons of a family have been booked on the charges of demanding dowry.



Bathinda: Three persons of a family have been booked on the charges of demanding dowry. Darshan Singh, a resident of Partap Nagar, has filed a complaint in this regard. He stated that his daughter Ramandeep Kaur, was married to Harjot Singh, a resident of Melbourne in Australia. Harjot, along with his parents Sukhdarshan Singh and Jaspal Kaur, residents of Ludhiana district, was harassing his daughter and demanding more dowry, he alleged. Investigation officer SI Jagdev Singh said they had registered a case on the statement of the girl’s father and a probe into the case had been started. A case under Section 498-A of the IPC has been registered against the three accused at women police station. However, no arrests have been made in the case so far.

Man’s body recovered

Bathinda: The body of Upinder, a resident of Nepal, has been recovered near Behman Diwana on Bathinda-Malout Road. After getting information, a Sadar police station team reached the spot and started a probe into the incident. The face of the deceased had been badly mutilated by hitting it with a brick. He was clad in white kurta pajama. After police action, the body has been sent to the civil hospital. TNS

One booked for sodomy

Bathinda: The police have booked Sandeep Singh for sodomising a resident of Talwandi Sabo. The complainant in the case said the accused took his eight-year-old son to his house where he committed the crime. A case under Section 377 of the IPC has been registered against Sandeep at the Talwandi Sabo police station. TNS
