Bathinda, November 13

To mark the celebrations of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, the four-day Punjab State Women Games (U-25) will commence in Mansa district on Thursday. As many as 3,600 players are expected to participate in the games.

Mansa Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait on Wednesday said it was a matter of honour for the district to organise a state-level event for the second time in a grand manner. “Our main focus is on letting people know that there is no difference between a daughter and a son. Girls can achieve all that  boys can and these games are a way of empowering them,” she added.
