52 teams for jr nat''l volleyball

Chandigarh: As many as 52 teams (boys & girls) comprising 700 players and 150 officials have confirmed their participation in the 45th Junior National Volleyball Championship to be held in Chandigarh from December 19 to 25.



Chandigarh: As many as 52 teams (boys & girls) comprising 700 players and 150 officials have confirmed their participation in the 45th Junior National Volleyball Championship to be held in Chandigarh from December 19 to 25. UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore will inaugurate this Championship on December 20 at the Panjab University Ground. 

Sarthak in main draw 

Chandigarh: CLTA trainee Harmanjot Singh and Sarthak Gandhi moved into the U-18 boys' main draw of the St. Stephen's School-AITA Championship Series (CS-7) Tennis Tournament. Sarthak defeated his practice partner Akash Srinivasan in straight sets 6-4, 6-4. Harmanjot defeated Shaminder Singh 6-2, 6-4.  In the U-16 boys' category, Siddharth Goel defeated Darshan Dilbag 9-2. In the girls' under-16 section, top seed Suryanshi Tanwar, Maitreyi Phogat and Bhumika Gupta qualify for the main draw. Maitreyi defeated Sehaj Kaur 6-1, 6-1, while Bhumika won 6-4, 6-4 against Agrima Gandhi. Rishi Dahiya beat Satvik Singla 9-2 in the second qualifying round in the U-16 category.
