Khattar on ‘ticket kato yatra’: Tanwar

The Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee, chief, Ashok Tanwar, today criticised the BJP government and said the saffron party has has failed on all the fronts in the state.

He was addressing a gathering during a “Satta Parivartan Samaroh” in Barara. Tanwar said, “People of Haryana had given their blessings to the BJP in the last Assembly election, but it failed to fulfill its promises. The ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ of the Chief Minister is a flop show as people have not turned up, while the party workers are fighting.”

Accusing the CM of misusing the government machinery, Tanwar said, “It was not Jan Ashirwad Yatra but ‘Ticket Kato Yatra’. He has been assessing the leaders to whom the ticket should be given in the Assembly polls. Instead of addressing important issues, including unemployment, economic slowdown and crisis in farm sector. The BJP is telling people about patriotism only. Corruption is rampant and no action has been taken against illegal mining.”

Talking about the Congress’s leaders missing, including poster of former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda from his event, Tanwar said, “We all work for the growth of the Congress.”

He reached Naraingarh and extended his support to agitating sugarcane farmers who have been protesting to get their dues cleared for the past four days.

“Congress extends full support to the farmers. It is not a matter of votes or politicising the issue. We are a family and we are here to support you. The Congress will raise the matter on every platform.”

About illegal mining, he said, “The NGT had banned mining in Yamuna and it was done in Uttar Pradesh. Under the BJP’s regime a mining scam worth Rs 3-lakh crore has taken place in Haryana.”

BKU (Charuni) spokesman Rajiv Sharma said, “We will continue to protest till our demand is met. A high-level meeting has been called in Chandigarh on Monday by the CM’s principal secretary Rajesh Khullar. Officials from power, finance, cooperation, mill owners and farmer leaders will attend the meeting.”
