Manav Mangal cagers off to a winning start

CHANDIGARH:Dolly’s seven-point effort helped Manav Mangal School, Mohali, register an 11-5 win over Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, in an opening round match of the sixth Sardar Bhagwant Singh Memorial Inter-School (U-14) Basketball Tournament at the Sector 42 Sports Complex, here, on Monday.

Dolly’s seven-point effort helped Manav Mangal School, Mohali, register an 11-5 win over Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, in an opening round match of the sixth Sardar Bhagwant Singh Memorial Inter-School (U-14) Basketball Tournament at the Sector 42 Sports Complex, here, on Monday. 

Vivek High School, Sector 38, drubbed St Peter’s School, Sector 37, 22-3. Vivek High School, Mohali, overcame Saupin’s School, Sector 32, 12-7, while Learning Paths School beat St Kabir Public School, Sector 26, 9-1. 

In the girls’ U-12 category, Samiksha scored all the 19 points to help Learning Paths School, Mohali, register a 19-3 win over Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36. 

Guru Nanak Public School beat Guru Harkrishan School, Sector 38, 27-6 in a girls’ U-16 match. Anjali scored 10 points for the winners.
