Mohali resident donates mother’s pension to PGI

CHANDIGARH: Someone has rightly said “People who have less, give more”.

Chandigarh, September 2

Someone has rightly said “People who have less, give more”. The same has been proved by Jit Singh Badhan, a resident of Mohali, who has donated a sum of Rs 1,00,118 to the Poor Patient Welfare Fund, PGI, on the behalf of his mother Raj Kaur. Jit Singh used to save his mother’s ordinary family pension of Rs 1,300 per month by making fixed deposits in a bank. Apart from this, he has also pledged to donate his body to the PGI.

The PGI is thankful for his thoughtfulness in providing financial assistance for the treatment of poor and needy patients. The institute appeals to the public to generously donate for this fund so that “we are able to save the poor patients by providing them super-speciality health care”. Such gestures of benevolence by philanthropists go a long way in benefitting the poor ailing humanity. — TNS
