CHANDIGARH:A local court today convicted two persons for playing loud music.

Chandigarh, January 22

A local court today convicted two persons for playing loud music. A fine of Rs 10,000 each has been imposed on the convicts.

One of the convicts, Narinder Singh (29), a resident of Milk Colony, Dhanas, was booked on January 1 for playing loud music at the top floor of SCO number 34-37 in Sector 9 here, leading to noise pollution. The accused was produced in court, which pronounced him guilty and slapped a Rs 10,000 fine on him.

In a similar case, Harpreet Singh (31), a resident of Sector 44, was booked for playing music at a house in Sector 8 while celebrating Lohri on January 14. The intensity of the sound of the music was more than the permissible limits. A case was registered against him at the Sector 3 police station. Today, he was convicted for the violation and directed to pay a fine of Rs 10,000.
