Student council to ensure hostels free of four-wheelers

CHANDIGARH:The Panjab University Campus Students’ Council (PUCSC) has been tasked to talk to hostel inmates to ensure that they leave their four-wheelers at their homes within 15 days.

The Panjab University Campus Students’ Council (PUCSC) has been tasked to talk to hostel inmates to ensure that they leave their four-wheelers at their homes within 15 days. It is a part of plan for four-wheeler free PU campus. 

“We had a meeting with the DSW and wardens on Tuesday where it was decided that some awareness should be undertaken in hostels regarding the ban. It is expected from us that we address the students in mess or common areas during lunch or dinner time,” said PUCSC president Kanupriya. 

She said, “We have been asked to take help of volunteers for the purpose.” 

Earlier, a panel comprising decided that four-wheelers be disallowed in hostels. 

The four-wheeler free campus will be ensured in phases. In the first phase, the road from the Arts Block-1 to the Department of Laws will be targeted.
