Punjabi University’s Vice-Chancellor Dr BS Ghuman today inaugurated the second phase of video lessons-based website for learning Punjabi. The website targets kids of Punjabis settled abroad and foreigners who wish to learn Punjabi.

The website has been developed by Research Centre for Punjabi Language, Literature and Technology under a project sponsored by the Punjab School Education Board.

Dr Gurpreet Singh Lehal, project coordinator, said the website has been developed in phases and the first phase was launched in 2016. In the second phase, 80 lessons spread over nine sections have been added to twenty-video lectures, he said.

Officials said Punjabi animated stories and rhymes have been added to the video lessons. “A separate section related to real-life conversation has been created on the website, where a cross-section of people, including vegetable and fruit vendors, goldsmiths and Punjabi jutti sellers have also been interviewed,” said the official.
