Judokas trained by police triumph



Chandigarh: Judokas trained by the Swayam team of Chandigarh Police have won 17 medals in the sub-junior, cadet & junior state judo championships held at the Sector 34 Sports Complex here from August 16-18. In the sub-junior competition, Himanshi won the gold medal in the U-52 kg division, while Komal bagged a silver in the U-44 kg category. Yashvi, Saloni and Digvijay won a bronze medal each in their respective weight categories. Khushi Yadav, Anju Kumari, Gayatri Miglani and Naushaba won a gold medal each in the cadet category. Harshita, Kiran, Kalpana, Roshini and Shinu took home silver medals, while Deepak Malik bagged the bronze medal. In the junior category, Sujata clinched the silver medal in U-52kg weight division, while Priyanka won a bronze medal in the U-44kg contest. TNS
