The two accused in the case pertaining to the prostitution racket in a Mani Majra-based salon have been sent to a one-day police remand. The Chandigarh Police had busted a prostitution racket by sending a decoy customer to a salon in Mani Majra on Monday evening. Two women were rescued as well. The salon, ‘Tressed Up’ is in NAC, Mani Majra.

The accused in the case are owner of the salon, Mehboob and the manager, Swami Parsad, alias Sameer. The prosecution was demanding for a two-day remand to rescue other girls who are in Jalandhar and Ludhiana. The police sent a decoy customer who called the salon manager, Swami Parsad. The decoy finalised the amount with the manager, who then asked him to visit the salon.

The decoy customer went there and handed over Rs5,000 cash to the manager. The manager kept Rs1,000 as commission and further handed over Rs4,000 to the owner of the salon Mehboob.

After the money was exchanged, the police raided the salon and recovered the amount from both the accused. Two victims of the prostitution racket were also rescued by the police.

The police said Mehboob and his associate Sameer first used to provide jobs to vulnerable victims at the salon and then forced them to indulge in the flesh trade.
