Organic farming to be encouraged in Mohali: DC

Organic farming will be encouraged in Mohali and to educate farmers in this regard, experts of the Agriculture Department have been asked to provide the relevant technical information at the village level.

Stating this today, Deputy Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur Sapra said exhibition-cum-sale stalls of organic products, including vegetables, pulses, fruits and cereals, would be displayed by farmers at the Multi-purpose Sports Stadium in Sector 78 here on the occasion of Yoga Day on June 21.

She said such stalls would also be put up every Friday from 1 pm to 6 pm in Room No. 123 in the District Administrative Complex here, where farmers would sell their goods direct. This would also motivate other farmers to go in for organic farming.
