P’kula to have advisory council on lines of UT

PANCHKULA: On the lines of the Chandigarh Administration, an advisory council is likely to be set up for the Panchkula district which will revive the beautification and development works in the city.

On the lines of the Chandigarh Administration, an advisory council is likely to be set up for the Panchkula district which will revive the beautification and development works in the city.

Haryana Assembly Speaker and Panchkula MLA Gian Chand Gupta said this had been the long-pending demand of the people of Panchkula. Now, the reviews of people regarding the beautification and development works in the city could reach the government.

Gupta said he had now written to the district administration to and asked it to prepare a detailed report about the members of the council and its rights.

He said the Panchkula advisory council would have representation from social organisations and officials of the social welfare departments. He said people who were experts in their fields would also be included in the advisory council so that they could advice on the development works.

The Panchkula MLA said a separate advisory council for the police would also be set up which would give its suggestions on the law and order situation in the city.
