A few girls residing as paying guest (PG) at a house in Sector 16 today alleged that the owner of the PG accommodation had installed a camera in their washroom. The UT police have initiated an inquiry into the complaint.

Sources said the girls staying on the first floor of the PG house today approached the Sector 17 police, claiming that they had allegedly found a camera installed in the washroom. The complainants removed the camera and handed it over to the police.

Sources said a police team inspected the entire PG accommodation. The girls reportedly showed them the place where the camera was installed.

The PG owner has also been questioned in this connection.

DSP (Cenrtal) Ram Gopal said an investigation had been initiated into the matter. “A police team visited the PG and searched the premises following a complaint,” the DSP added.

Sources said the camera had been sent to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Sector 36 for examination. It was being investigated since how long the camera was installed there.
