PATIALA:The Patiala police in wake of the 72nd Independence Day celebration conducted a thorough security checks in the city.

The Patiala police in wake of the  72nd Independence Day celebration conducted a thorough security checks in the city. Security at public places, including the city railway station and bus stand, religious places has been strengthened by the police.  In addition to the initiative to ensure public safety, the police also checked paying guest accommodations. 

Superintendent of Police (SP) Kesar Singh said, “We have deputed around 500 police men in the city area. Moreover, we are conducted checks at various spots.”

He added the Police Department has deputed policemen at all important points in and throughout the district. He said, “The police personnel have been deployed at check-posts throughout the city to handle any untoward activity. Also, patrolling will be conducted throughout the night.”

Various SHOs from the city collectively checked the bus stand and the railway station. The police conducted checks at various paying guest (PG) accommodations. Police officials said mischievous elements would not be allowed to act spoilsport in the Independence Day celebrations. A police official said, “We checked various paying guest accommodations near Leela Bhawan, Government Rajindra Hospital on Bhupindra road. People should refrain from offering accommodation without proper checking records of an individual.” —TNS
