Traffic snarls were witnessed on various roads in the tricity due to a downpour today. Several traffic lights conked out, adding to the traffic chaos.

Motorists had a tough time driving around waterlogged roads. Traffic snarls were witnessed on all major roads, including Madhya Marg, Dakshin Marg and various roads in southern sectors, including Sectors 34, 35 and 36.

A gridlock was witnessed at the Press light point, Labour Chowk and the Aroma light point. Policemen were seen regulating the traffic at various intersections during rain. It took almost 45 minutes for the situation to normalise.

Panchkula roads waterlogged 

After rain, roads in different sectors, colonies and villages in Panchkula were waterlogged. In Sector 16, residents complained that internal roads were inundated because of a blocked drain. Besides, roads in the Industrial Area, Indira Colony and old Panchkula were also waterlogged.
