Rickshaw-puller held for kidnapping 3 children

CHANDIGARH: A rickshaw-puller has been arrested for kidnapping three minor children.

Chandigarh, December 10

A rickshaw-puller has been arrested for kidnapping three minor children.

According to the police, the accused rickshaw-puller has been identified as Mantu, a resident of Khuda Lahora.

The accused had kidnapped the minor children aged between 5 and 6 years and was taking them in his rickshaw when a youth, Munna, got suspicious and stopped the accused at the Khuda Lahora bridge.

On asking, the accused could not give a satisfactory reply as who were the minors. The police were informed about the incident by passersby who gathered at the spot.

Later, the police investigated the matter and found that these children were kidnapped by the accused from Khuda Lahora.

The accused was arrested and a case against him under Sections 363 (kidnapping) and 365 (kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine person) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered at the Sarangpur police station.

The rickshaw-puller had kidnapped the minor children aged between 5 and 6 years and was taking them in his rickshaw when a youth, Munna, got suspicious and stopped the accused at the Khuda Lahora bridge.
