Chandigarh: Sri Guru Gobind Singh College (SGGS), Sector 26, won both their league matches in the Panjab University Inter-college Volleyball Championship for Men (A-division).



Chandigarh: Sri Guru Gobind Singh College (SGGS), Sector 26, won both their league matches in the Panjab University Inter-college Volleyball Championship for Men (A-division). The side beat Khalsa College, Mahilpur, 3-0 before overcoming SCD Government College, Ludhiana, 3-2. Earlier, SCD College beat DAV College, Hoshiarpur, 3-2. Hoshiarpur boys also went down to Khalsa College, Mahilpur. Govind National College, Narangwal clinched the title in the B- Division. Khalsa College, Gardiwala, finished second, followed by AD College, Dharamkot in third place. MBG Government College, Pojewal, claimed fourth position. TNS

St Xavier’s girls win

Chandigarh: St. Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, girls drubbed St. Kabir School, Sector 26, 28-10 in the St. Xavier’s Inter-school Basketball Championship. In the second match, Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Sector 20 (B), defeated St. Xavier School, Mohali, 32-10.  TNS

Jasleen, Khemant shoot silver

Chandigarh: Jasleen Kaur and Khemant of the Chandigarh NCC air squadron won a silver medal each at the 27th All India GV Mavlankar Shooting Championship in Mumbai. Jasleen, while competing in the women’s junior category, scored 554 points to bag the silver medal in the small bore sport rifle three position, while Khemant shot silver in the junior open sight shooting event.
