CHANDIGARH:A 70-year-old woman received injuries after a black motorcycle-borne miscreant pushed her to the ground and snatched her purse containing Rs 5,500 in cash at Sector 38 (West) here on Tuesday morning.

Chandigarh, March 20

A 70-year-old woman received injuries after a black motorcycle-borne miscreant pushed her to the ground and snatched her purse containing Rs 5,500 in cash at Sector 38 (West) here on Tuesday morning. The incident took place when the victim, Parvesh Jain, was going to a neighbour’s house to attend a religious function. 

One of the two mobiles the victim was carrying broke in the melee. 

On getting information, the police reached the spot and scrutinised the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area. Sources said the police had got a CCTV grab of the miscreant. 

A case has been registered against the accused at the Maloya police station and an investigation initiated into it.
