Chandigarh, October 19

The cluster-level Kala Utsav was organised by Cluster No. 9 at Government Model High School, Sector 38, here on Saturday. The competition saw 38 participants from various schools falling under the cluster showcasing their talent in music (instrumental and vocal), solo dance and painting. The contestants exhibited a variety of art forms on the stage depicting rich culture and heritage of the country.

The competition commenced with a yoga performance by students of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 37-B, followed by scintillating vocal performances.

Harmeet Kaur, cluster in-charge-cum-Principal of the GMSSS, 37-B, along with Nirmal Sharma, Principal, GMSSS 37-D, Suman Bala, Head, GMHS 37-C, Madan Lal Kashyap, Head, GMHS 38-D, Harmneet Kaur, Head, GHS-24, Seema Sharma, Head, GHS 38-B and Nisha Gupta, Principal, SD Senior Secondary School, Sector 24, was present on the occasion.

Principal Harmeet Kaur lauded all participants and urged them to hone their talent and potential. The programme concluded with the announcement of results for various categories. Experts from the related fields adjudged the performances.

The Kala Utsav is organised every year to promote arts in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of school students at the secondary stage.
