Three of family injured in clash

DERA BASSI: Two brothers and their mother suffered injuries after they were reportedly attacked by some persons of the same village here today.

Two brothers and their mother suffered injuries after they were reportedly attacked by some persons of the same village here today.

The victims have identified as Guljinder Singh, his brother Parminder Singh and their mother Kamla Devi, all residents of Haripur Hinduan village near Dera Bassi. The brother-duo had been admitted to the GMCH-32, Chandigarh, while their mother was undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital, Dera Bassi.

Though the police have started an investigation into the matter, old enmity between the two families is stated to be one of the reasons behind the incident, said sources.

The victims said they were allegedly attacked with rods and sticks by some persons of the village today. When their mother tried to intervene, she was also beaten up.

The sources said the other party had denied its involvement in the incident.

Meanwhile, the police were recording the statements of the victims at the time of the filing of this report. Further probe would be conducted accordingly, said the police.
