Two booked for rape

PATIALA:Two residents of Rajpura city have been booked for raping a 25-year-old woman.

Two residents of Rajpura city have been booked for raping a 25-year-old woman. The accused have been identified as Gopi (24) and Moni (21). The police said the woman, who works as a maid, alleged that the two laced her tea with sedatives and raped her.

ASI Avtar Singh said the woman came to the police station to register an FIR against the accused on April 13. He said, “The woman informed us that on April 12, she had gone to the accused’s place for monthly payment for work when the two laced her tea with sedatives. After this, she was allegedly raped by the two at their lodging place in the grain market.”

ASI Avtar Singh said the woman’s medical test was conducted on April 13. He said the two accused had not been arrested yet as the police were investigating the case.

The police have registered a case against the two accused under Sections 376 (rape), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC.
