The scene outside the world famous Rock Garden has turned chaotic. The place is full of roadside vendors. They have also encroached upon the parking. While tourists from all over the world visit the Rock Garden daily, the Municipal Corporation has failed to act against encroachers. The number of vendors is too on the rise at Sukhna Lake. After looking at vendors outside the Rock Garden, one of the tourists said that the place has turned into a vendors’ garden.

Hiding more than revealing

Some officials in Mohali are very particular about getting their news published. On Saturday evening, several trees fell down after a squall, disrupting the power supply and blocking roads. However, an MC official, who called up this correspondent, was only concerned about the disruption of the water supply. He avoided talking of the power shutdown or other problems caused by the thunderstorm. Perhaps, his seniors had pressured him to get the water-related information published.
