In a bid to ease the delivery of services, Lt Governor Anil Baijal today approved the plan for “digital delivery” of all services of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and emphasised the need for setting up more ‘Nagrik Suvidha Kendras’ to facilitate citizens across the city.

The land owning agency will undertake digitalisation of about 77 workflow activities related to land disposal, housing, land management, financial matters, sports, personnel, etc. to begin with.

In this regard, Baijal, also the Chairperson of the DDA, today held a review meeting to see the preparedness for working out such a plan and ordered timebound implementation of the initiative as a “turn-key project”.

In the meeting, a presentation on ‘digital preparation of DDA’ under the ‘Digital India Programme’ was made by Uday Pratap Singh, Vice-Chairman, DDA, and his team.

Giving his remarks, the LG stressed the need for setting up deadlines for specific activities and delivering services in a timebound manner.

The LG directed that the land owning agency should have an online public grievance redressal mechanism so that there is minimal human interface. Geo-referencing of vacant plots should be done with the coordination of GSI and NRSA, he said.

The DDA Chairperson directed the Land Management Wing to compile yearwise data of encroachment on the DDA land along with an action plan for its removal in two months.

Officials were told to identify pockets of plots and areas where layout plans have still not been made so that they could be notified as ‘green’ to prevent further encroachment.

The LG said the DDA should frame a policy for development of land in the national Capital and undertake capacity building/competency development programmes for about 10 lakh customers having DDA land and properties.

“Various modes of service delivery like Internet access through computer at home, mobile phones, cyber/Internet cafes, Internet service access centres, common services centres, mobile van service, Nagrik Suvidha Kendras of DDA to be initiated and integrated,” read a statement issued by Raj Niwas.

The ‘Action Taken Report’ of the last meeting held on February 9 on ‘Land Management Issues’ was presented in the meeting which was also attended by the Vice-Chairman (DDA), Engineer Member (DDA), Finance Member (DDA), Pr. Commissioner (LD), Pr. Commissioner (LM), Commissioner (Plg), DDA, Chief Legal Advisor (DDA) and other HODs.
