15 teachers get Malti Gyan Peeth Puraskar

Fifteen teachers from government higher secondary and high schools of Punjab have been conferred with the “Malti Gyan Peeth Puraskar” for promoting quality teaching and encouraging girls’ education in the state.

The awards, three each in physics, chemistry, mathematics, English and social science, are recognised by the Punjab Government and awarded to the best teachers every year since 2013. The award comprises Rs 1 lakh, a certificate of excellence and a robe of honour.

The awards were given by former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal in the presence of Union Minister of Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi in New Delhi last evening.
