“Jitni takat Punjab ke log hamen denge, utna hi hum unke liye kar payenge,” said Alka Lamba, AAP MLA from Delhi here today.

Lamba, who is taking care of the election campaign of Mohali AAP candidate Narinder Singh Shergill, addressed a gathering at Jal Vayu Vihar in Sector 67.

She told The Tribune that the old, young, women and others were supporting the AAP candidate because they now wanted a corruption-free government and an end to the drug menace. She said the party had contested elections earlier in Punjab and this time it was sure to improve its performance.

Lamba said residents of Delhi were provided power at cheaper rates and a lot of improvement was brought about in the medical and educational spheres. "In Punjab, the party will be able to govern in a much better way as compared to Delhi as it would not have to depend on an authority like the Lieutenant-Governor. The Lokpal and the Lok Ayukta will be appointed in Punjab after AAP comes to power. “What we couldn’t do in Delhi, will now be done in Punjab," added Lamba. — OC
