Fatehgarh Sahib, December 19
Amid protests by supporters of Jagmeet Singh Sahota, Congress nominee from the Amloh Assembly segment Kaka Randeep Singh Nabha today launched his election campaign after paying obeisance at Sri Fatehgarh Sahib gurdwara.
Kaka Randeep Singh supported by District Congress president Harinder Singh Bhambri and party workers organised a roadshow on the Rajpura-Jalandhar GT road to Amloh. When the rally reached the main chowk of Mandi Gobindgarh, Sahota’s supporters raised black flags and shouted slogans against Kaka Randeep.
They urged the Congress high command to allow Sahota to contest the elections “who has capacity to win the seat comfortably being a local candidate”.
Earlier, Kaka Randeep Singh had urged Sahota to honour the party decision of allotting ticket to him (Nabha) and told him that it was time to show unity.
Sahota said he had come to know that his supporters had organised a protest against the roadshow by Kaka Randeep at Mandi Gobindgarh. He said the party should have kept in mind the emotions of the local people while allotting the ticket.
