In the resumed hearing of the molestation case involving a dance teacher as the accused, the victim’s father today deposed before the court and raised a question mark on police investigations in the case. The victim’s father submitted that the affidavit and the apology letter of the accused had not been included in the chargesheet submitted by the police. The same were put on record before the court today.

The case has now been adjourned to April 4 when the statements of the investigating officer will be recorded.

In the apology letter, the accused, Akash, had apologised for what he had done with the girl. He admitted that he also extorted an amount of Rs 20,000 from her and would not repeat the mistake in future.

Counsel for complainant Advocate Terminder Singh stated that the apology letter was vital evidence in the case, yet it was not produced before the court by the investigating officer as he withheld the letter.

During the previous hearing of the case, the  17-year-old girl had given statement against her former dance teacher. The victim identified Akash, a resident of Panchkula, in court and accused him of molesting and sexually assaulting her.

She also stated that the accused extorted money from her by claiming that he had objectionable pictures of hers. He also made physical contact and made unwelcome advances and explicit sexual overtures.

Akash was arrested for blackmailing and extorting money. The victim used to learn dance at Akash’s academy in Sector 44.

The police was supposed to file the challan within 60 days. However, as the police failed to do so, the local court granted bail to Akash.
