Free artificial limbs distributed

A free artificial limbs distribution camp was held by Bharat Vikas Parishad Trust at Viklang Sahayta Kendre at Rishi Nagar here. Artificial limbs and calipers were given to 55 physically handicapped persons. The camp was organised in association wtth an NGO – Creating Hopes, Canada and Apneet Ryat, ADC, Development, was the chief guest. The Trust had also organized polio surgery camps in which 2,211 polio operations have been done successfully.

CSD canteen at Jagraon

Nearly 6,000 ex-servicemen, ‘Veer Naris’ and their families in Jagraon have a reason to rejoice with Lt Gen JS Cheema, VSM,GOC 11 Corps, extending the CSD canteen facilities and dedicating it to the veteran fraternity. With opening of CSD, the ex-servicemen and veer naris will not have to travel long distances to avail canteen facilities. Besides, DPDO already existed in the same complex which would considerably reduce inconvenience, as they could now resolve their pension related issues and obtain canteen entitlements from the same complex. — TNS
