Governor NN Vohra inaugurated the 61st National School Games organised by the Directorate General, Youth Services and Sports, at MA Stadium here today.

Imran Raza Ansari, Minister for Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports, was the guest of honour on the occasion.

Welcoming participants, the Governor observed that there was tremendous sports talent among boys and girls in the state.

He hoped that with the availability of improved facilities and increasing opportunities, they would excel in sports and games.

He said if their talent was nurtured and adequately groomed, many of them would make it to national teams in all games and sports disciplines in the coming years.

Referring to the cricket under-17 girls’ category, the Governor observed that cricket lovers would get a very good opportunity to witness the participating teams in action in the coming five days.
