Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Wednesday called upon members of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) to strengthen the hands of the government by taking a lead in offering medical services in the remote parts of the state.

While interacting with the members, Rawat urged the private medicos to become a part of the guest doctor programme through which the government was aiming to provide specialist services in inaccessible parts of the state.

“We are aiming to press in helicopters so that doctors could be flown into places where medical services are negligible and I seek your cooperation in this endeavour,” Rawat said.

The Chief Minister also apprised the delegation of its decision to develop at least two centres in each district as ideal medical centres equipped with all medical services, including emergency ambulance services.

The delegation of IMA doctors comprised of Dr Geeta Khanna, Dr Kuldeep Datta, Dr Mahesh Kuriyal and others.
