To win over a generation of budding digital photographers, the internet giant and elite scientific institute have developed an algorithm that gets rid of unwanted visual elements in an image.

By using framing from a short video to separate the foreground from the background, you can scrap practically any kind of visual obstruction — from rain drops to chain link fences. Best of all, the technique can capture a clear image of any reflection. The algorithm isn’t yet available on any devices you can buy, but you can bet it will soon feature on an Android phone.
