State not getting adequate funds from Centre: CM

The state government wants to provide basic facilities to rural folks but it is being meted out step-motherly treatment by the Centre. This was stated by CM Virbhadra Singh at a public meeting in Kihar, Chamba, today. He said adequate funds were not being provided to the state.

Issuing directions to reconstruct the building of Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS), Kihar, the Chief Minister announced to upgrade the Community Health Centre (CHC), Kihar, to 50 bedded. He said Government High School, Sanghani, Middle Schools, Kilod, Dhutta and Mundoh would also be upgraded.

He also announced the opening of a primary school at Maura, adding that Primary School, Langoi, would be upgraded.

The CM said he would speak to the health authorities to start an 108 Ambulance. He said a parking and commercial complex would come up under the PPP mode.

Earlier, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of two-storey building of GSSS, Kihar, costing Rs 2.86 crore. He also inaugurated GSSS, Sherpur, and the Primary Health Centre at Sundla.

Govind Singh Pathania was honoured by the CM for donating 12 biswas for the construction of a school.

Secretary, AICC, and local MLA Asha Kumari thanked the Chief Minister for sanctioning Rs 25 crore for the widening of Chaura Dam-Sundla-Sanghani-Khundi-Maral road.

Pradhan, gram panchayat, Kihar, and Amar Singh Pathania raised demands, including increase in honorarium of special police officers, at Salooni.
