Theog bypass work will begin soon: Vidya Stokes

SHIMLA: Tenders will be invited for construction of Theog bypass on a priority as a sum amounting to Rs 39 crores has been received by the government, said Irrigation and Public Health Minister Vidya Stokes while presiding over a meeting with the senior officers of various departments at the Secretariat here today.

Tenders will be invited for construction of Theog bypass on a priority as a sum amounting to Rs 39 crores has been received by the government, said Irrigation and Public Health Minister Vidya Stokes while presiding over a meeting with the senior officers of various departments at the Secretariat here today.

She said many milestones of development had been set up during the last four years in Theog Assembly segment.

Stokes said the work on bus stand at Theog was in progress and addition sum of Rs 3 crore would be provided soon. She directed the concerned authority to speed up the construction work.

She said the foundation stone for the construction of a shopping complex was laid in the year 2014 land for which has already been transferred to the State Transport Authority. She also directed that a committee should be constituted under the SDM Theog to ensure early completion of this bus stand. She expressed concern over the delay in carrying out the construction of Mini Secretariat despite allotment of Rs 4 crore for the same.

It was apprised that the construction of Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS) Mahori has already started and Rs. 2.35 crore would be spent on it. Similarly, the construction of GSSS Matiana, Tiyal, Nahol, Kot-Shilaru and Kelvi buildings would be started soon.
