Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (Airy) president Pushpesh Tripathy today said the state was witnessing rampant opportunism that had been a culture of the BJP and the Congress.
Tripathy, in a statement, stated, “It is this politics of the BJP and the Congress that the state has seen 10 Chief Ministers in 16 years of its existence. Neighbouring Himachal Pradesh has witnessed only five Chief Ministers in its 50 years of existence. The BJP and the Congress have set a wrong precedent in Uttarakhand. They have taken moral values in politics to a new low”.
According to Tripathy, the last minute shifting of loyalty by Cabinet Minister Yashpal Arya suggests that the leaders of the BJP and the Congress could go to any extent to serve their vested interests. The Uttarakhand Kranti Dal stands for values and contests the Assembly elections only to serve the people, he said, adding that “public should support it.”
